Mom
2 years ago today my mom died. I miss her so very much. I miss the calls on my birthday, mothers day just stinks her birthday was right before mothers day so I'd usually go up and take a long weekend to spend the time with her, the holidays hold no joy for me at all because they were celebrated with her and without her - they are empty and bland. I miss her voice. I miss hearing her play guitar and singing. I miss her laugh and the confidant that I had in her. I miss our discussions about religion and energy work. I miss her smell. The pain isn't as great now as it was, but still the tears are in my eyes and the lump is in my throat as I type this. I loved her dearly and rejoice in the fact that I am just a little bit like her. I was asked by my therapist to use single words to describe her. Those words are: fantastic lovely graceful elegant kind healer loving gentle fierce strong firey intuitive chameleon spiritual beautiful funny resourceful smart charming accepting home I love you mom. |

Wicked
Yesterday I was up at 4 and into work by 6, boss was out sick but I left at 2 anyway because I was cleared for early take off a long time ago and I was going to see Wicked with Rick. I came home, fed the poochies, took an impromptu nap, woke up to Rick coming down the stairs, he woke me up, we got ready and headed out for dinner and the show at the Fabulous Foxx Theater. Dinner was nice, next time we need to plan a dinner instead of playing it by ear - my bad on that one. I know better. I had a great time pointing out little details about the Foxx, pointing out the ballrooms, showing him the pit, the balcony, the details of the ceiling, etc. It is such a lovely theater - thank goodness it didn't get tore down for a parking lot. Such a waste that would have been! We read the program, he filled me in on the story line and the show began. WOW! It was amazing. I knew so very little going in and I was blown away. The woman who played Elphaba has such a powerful voice that even when the sound person didn't get her mic on in time you could still hear her speaking voice clearly. The story line was touching, thought provoking, tender at times, funny at others. The sets were stimulating and beautiful, the costumes were what you would expect and more. Truly - this is a fun show and completely worth your time to go see. Given the chance, I'd go back in a heartbeat. |

Remember
Today is a day to remember that we are all part of the human consciousness. It is not a day to say "We hate that country!" or "We hate that race!" It is a day to say in one voice "We will no longer hate because our government and our leaders tell us to. We will stand together united in peace and through that peace, change the world as we know it."
